Final Referee Instructions
We need all referees to continue to work their scheduled matches this Saturday, signing in at the referee tent as usual. Please make certain you return all game cards to the referee tent at the conclusion of the match, as these will be used by the scorekeeper to complete the final standing.
Finally, we thank each and every one of our dedicated referees for your support this season. We endured many changes, from a new Regional Referee Administrator to a new referee scheduling system. Yet somehow we managed to provide a full three-person certified AYSO Referee Team for 157 competitive soccer matches every Saturday. We also managed to provide referees for an equal number of U7 and U8 soccer matches, using parents as trained referees. In short, this Fall 2008 season over 2,500 played soccer every Saturday at Conejo Creek due to the efforts of volunteer referees, volunteer coaches and volunteer Region 9 staff. Kudos to us all ! |

News & Updates The following two policies, concerning Referee Dissent and Abuse and missing player uniform components, have been adopted by the Region 9 Board of Directors. They are to be applied by all referees immediately. Referee Dissent and Abuse Policy Missing Uniform Policy Basic Referee Course for Premier League January 14 - 15, 2009 Region 9 will be offering a Basic Referee Training Course for Premier League referee candidates this January 14 - 15, 2009 at the Goebel Senior Center. Check back soon for details. *** Area E Tournament is Looking For Referees Area will be looking for referees to help work Area Tournament matches for league teams and for All-Star teams. This competition commences in December and runs thru January on local fields. All referees, Basic through National, are encouraged to participate. Volunteering to help does not mean you commit to working every or even most weekends, only that you are willing to help with one or more matches. Please complete the Area E Tournament Form if you are able to help referee. *** Pot O' Gold Tournament The Region 9 Pot O' Gold Soccer Tournament will again take place this March. Of course we are looking for referees to help organize the referee portion of the tournament and to help work matches. *** Referee Instructor Training Region 9 will be working with Section 10 for a Referee Instructor Training Course sometime this Spring 2009. We are always looking for new instructors to join our Referee Instruction Staff. You do NOT have to be a National Referee to be an Instructor, only willing and eager to participate in our referee program. |

Referees & Coaches All Team Referee Bonus Point data for the first eleven weeks of the season were frozen this past Saturday. The only referee points that can now be added are for this Saturday's matches. We are sorry if you missed out on some points, but we must freeze the standing during the last week of the season so every team know exactly where they are in the standings before their final Saturday match. *** Region 9 / AYSO Rule Modifications A two page .pdf with all of the FIFA Rule Modifications for each AYSO Division *** Decision re: Law 5 Stoppage for Player Injury Adopted by AYSO, whenever play is stopped for an injury (except the keeper) and someone comes onto the field to assist the injured player, that player must leave the field before play is resumed. *** |
