Region 9 Team Referee Program

• Region 9 requires that each soccer team, with the exception of U6 teams, provide at least one volunteer to be trained and work as team referee for the duration of the season.

•  

• U7 & U8 Soccer Teams - The Team Referee will work as one of two official referees (the opposing team providing the other official referee) for the team's own matches.  Since teams may not play a match without referees, any U7-U8 team without a referee risks forfeiture if neither team produces a Team Referee.

•  

• U10-U4 Soccer Teams - The team will receive a bonus point in the team standing for each  Referee Assignment completed by the Team Referee or designated replacement, up to one point per week.  Make up points are not allowed.

• Every team must identify its Team Referees before the season commences.

Team Referee Points

Each competitive team fulfilling its weekly team referee assignment will receive a bonus point in the competitive standings.  Check your referee points each week, and contact your Director of Team Referees immediately there is an issue with the decision to award or not award team referee points. For purposes of finality and fairness to all teams, team referee points will be frozen the final week of the season.
